Title or Location: 'Wot Appened!?'
This self-portrait depicts me at 20, 30, 40 and 50 years old. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and the central picture shows me in shock on a oxygen therapy machine! From being a confident, able individual I moved into the world of disability and dependency. Hence the painting is called 'Wot Appened?!'. However, so many positives have come from this. I learnt that a SOH (sense of humour) is essential, I now longer worry about the inconsequential things, I have greater empathy and em

Title or Location: 'Wot Appened!?'
This is a self-portrait which shows me at 20, 30, 40, 50 then, when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and on an oxygen machine. The identity changes as the peripheral images are self-assured. The middle character looks shocked and the difference goes way deeper. Moving into the world of disability is not easy but it teaches so much including a sense of humour, loss of ego, empathy, greater freedom and a joy of embracing life to the full and what really matters.

Title or Location: Fallen Angel
Self taught artist who enjoys drawing. I did this drawing for someone who daughter became a fallen angel. She didn?t know I was drawing it for her, I just wanted to draw a keepsake for her to treasure. I use to draw as a teenager my dad told me to stop wasting my time drawing! So I never picked up a drawing pencil or paper for 38 years! I see it as a gift now and so grateful.

Title or Location: Finding Peace
The location is Budleigh Salterton, Devon, UK.Combination of three different images: the sea, the boat, and the pebbles. The pebbles on the beach typically look uniformly grey. However, for this painting and a series of similar ones, I've exaggerated the colour saturation of the pebbles and super-imposed as the foreground for contrast against the background and middle-ground. "Finding Peace" for those struggling with mental illness impacting their lives.

Title or Location: Bird
I made this for a lovely friends daughter who had to move from her flat in Edinburgh as the landlord was selling up . It didn?t really give her long to get something else especially in Edinburgh so she moved out the city to a house she could afford . She has a disabled son who she shares the responsibility of looking after with her ex partner. So she had to really start again , so I said I would make her a welcome sign with birds on it as she?s also a DJ in Edinburgh who goes by the name of Bird

I was interested in challenging my hand at painting a subject with fine detail. I wanted to capture the strength and resilience I saw in this image. I also wanted to combine my love of nature with my love of artistic expression.
